Our Crew
Peggy Devens is originally from Maastricht, Netherlands and has been working as a professional groom for over 25 years. She attended the NHB Deurne for four years and earned her professional certificate for equine instruction. She began her career in the equestrian industry in 1994 as an international horse show groom for Rob Ehrens. She worked in Holland and Belgium until 2002, grooming for many top riders including Jerry Smit, Marc Van Dijck, Taizo Sugitani. In the winter of 2002, she came to the United States as a groom for Allison Firestone and then moved to California where she served as a professional groom and barn manager for El Campeon Farms. After spending 4 years on the west coast, Peggy moved back to Wellington and worked for Mark and Katherine Bellisimo for 8 years before joining Marcus Fyffe Dressage in October of 2019 as Barn Manager. Peggy has served as a groom at the European Championships, World Cup Finals, Olympic Games, Summer Tour, the Masters, and hundreds of FEI competitions.
Peggy’s number one priority is ensuring first class horse care in an environment where Nicholas and David can focus solely on coaching and training. She feels clients should be able to depend on her and the team to care for their horses as an extension of themselves. She prides herself on creating a barn environment that is a safe, happy place where clients can enjoy their animals, as she feels positive interactions transfer to the horses and affects their development. She loves being part of the team and cares for each client’s horse as if it were her own.

With the help of her trainers, Nicholas Fyffe and David Marcus, the pair quickly moved up to FEI Young Riders, and she won the CDI Young Rider Freestyle at Dressage at Devon in 2016. In 2017, Katrina helped her Region 3 teammates win the Young Rider Team gold medal at the Adequan/FEI North American Junior & Young Rider Championships.

He then moved into the sphere of dressage competitors, working for Grand Prix trainer Mary Cameron Rollins for three years around 2012 and then Australian Grand Prix competitor Kelly Layne.
With his quality experience in grooming and care for high performance equine athletes, he has brought to Marcus Fyffe Dressage a great understanding of competitors' needs and attention to detail since he joined the team in 2016.
